Faro airport was one of the countries with the highest traffic growth in the first half of this year, with around 3.8 million passengers.
Prime Minister António Costa will inaugurate this morning the completion of the works to expand Faro airport.
After an investment of more than 32 million euros made by the ANA concessionaire owned by the French group Vinci, Faro’s new airport is prepared to receive 30 aircraft movements on the runway per hour, six more than before.
After a guided visit to the new infrastructures, the official ceremony will take place, in addition to the head of Government, will be attended by Nicolas Notebaert, CEO of Vinci Concessions and president of Vinci Airports, and Carlos Lacerda, president of the Executive Committee of ANA – Airports of Portugal.
It is recalled that Faro airport was one of the largest growths in the universe managed by ANA in the first half of 2017, with an increase of 18.5%, to about 3.8 million passengers.
